modern, the Captain Canal House 2 is located in one of the oldest
districts of Amsterdam. Snazzy!

Apartment

The Captain Canal 2 is a strikingly beautiful three bedroom house
located in one of the oldest areas of Amsterdam. Traditional elements
like high ceilings, wooden floors and large windows create a powerful
atmosphere of wealth and refinement.

Bright and spacious, the living area is furnished with a sofa, a
fauteuil, a coffee table, a flat screen TV, a DVD player. There is also a
cosy lounge area with two additional sofas. The open plan kitchen is
fully equipped for your convenience.

A hallway paved with marble and a flight of stairs lead to the bedrooms.
One of which has a double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, a sink
and a toilet, of course, and this one has a relaxing bathtub. The other
two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms as well, one comes with a double bed
and one comes with two singles. A separate water closet can be found in
the hallway.

This magnificent house can host six persons.

Fair-trade Max Havelaar Cotton

The bath linen we use is made of Fair-trade cotton. Fair-trade cotton is
cotton that is produced durable without any insecticides in developing
countries. By paying an honest price to local farmers the environment of
those who are directly involved is improved step by step.

We always keep looking for new ways to contribute to a better environment.

Area

The apartment is located in the Nieuwmarkt area one of the oldest
districts of Amsterdam. Although bordering the spicy Red Light District,
it has a family-safe atmosphere with no red lights or related
businesses around.

The lovely Nieuwmarkt Square is picturesque with cafés and bars. De
Waag, a magnificent historic building stands out. It used to be St.
Anthony’s Gate, part of the Medieval Walls built in 1481 and
subsequently converted into a weighing house (Waag = weighing scales).
During the 16th century ships would dock here to unload and weight their
goods.

Today this is a beautiful and peaceful neighbourhood close to the
Central Station, The Rembrandt house, Chinatown and just ten minutes
away from Dam Square.
