From the window you have an excellent view over the Square with in front the Stadsschouwburg (City Theatre), built in 1894 and former home to the National Ballet and Opera. This is one the most famous squares in Amsterdam and the surrounding is known for its nightlife. Be aware that this may alter the sound during the week-end. This is a very vibrant part of the city, lots of terraces, cafés, restaurants and within walking distance to shopping areas and main landmarks.
But only minutes walking away you also find the biggest park, the Vondelpark, a 47 ha. urban park, opened in 1865 and an oasis of calm where you can unwind and enjoy nature.
In front of the apartment building you find taxis and public transport (trams) going to all directions, including the Central Station.

Once the Police Headquarters (opened in 1900), this building was reconverted into an apartment building some years ago.
