A "reborn" area of the city. Originally a working class neighbourhood, this marvelous area, called Jordaan, reflorished around 1980 and today is an absolute must to visit. The apartment is located on the "flower canal" (Bloemengracht) which once was the flower market area. The canal is still beautiful. From the apartment you have a view on the canal which is part of a complex network of interconnections to keep water level within limits. Today the population in the Jordaan is mixed with a lot of newcomers and the old guard. The Ana Frank House is in this area. Rembrandt lived also here the last years of his live. On saterdays, on the Noordenmarkt, is the open market for vegetables, meat and cheese.
You will find a lot of art galleries, small shops and restaurants. It is part of the center of Amsterdam

Apartment

The apartment itself is located on ground level and is housed in one of the buildings typically representing the area. The living room is cozy and relaxing with all the necessary furniture you expect to have it. Old fashioned sliding doors separate the living from the sleeping room. The kitchen is where it belonged in the old days: in the back of the apartment. Next to it you find a small area with the washing machine and next the bathroom.
